Summary:The electronic structure, magneto-optic properties of two systems: Sr 2 FeReO 6 and Sr 2 CrWO 6 are investigated using the FPLAPW employing the GGA approximation. Our results show that the two systems have a half metallic character. The obtained magnetic moments indicate that first is ferromagnetic, while the second is ferrimagnetic. The DFT was used to calculate the magnetic moment and the exchange energies. The obtained results are used in Monte Carlo simulations (MCS) to determine some magnetic parameters such as: magnetization, susceptibility, relative cooling power, adiabatic change in temperature and magnetic entropy under temperature effect.
