Summary: | This paper reports an experimental investigation on circular- and square-section models of finite height in a turbulent shear flow. Mean pressure and force data have been studied for models having various slenderness ratios. The tests were conducted at a subcritical Reynolds number of 2.2 × 10
4 based on the characteristics lateral dimension of the model and the reference velocity at the top of the mean velocity profile.
Proximity effects between two bodies have also been studied with particular reference to the leeward model and the relative spacing between the models. |
