Fuzzy Predictive Control of a Variable Speed Wind Turbine

This paper introduces a fuzzy model predictive control (FMPC) using Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) approach. The FMPC law can be easily obtained by solving a convex optimization problem subject to several LMI conditions. Then such controller is constructed to control a variable wind turbine. For t...

Summary:This paper introduces a fuzzy model predictive control (FMPC) using Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) approach. The FMPC law can be easily obtained by solving a convex optimization problem subject to several LMI conditions. Then such controller is constructed to control a variable wind turbine. For this purpose, a model predictive control approach with blade pitch and generator torque as two control inputs with the objective to control power is proposed. The effectiveness of our proposed approach is shown by simulation results
