Summary: | A series of experimental work has been made to determine void fraction in vertical cylinder packed beds with homogenous spherical pellets of different sizes. The experimental data are used to develop a correlation for void fraction as function of bed height, cylinder diameter, pellet diameter, and pellet number. This correlation gives acceptable results with an average absolute error of 1.033% for 108 data points. |
