Summary: | Atomoxetine, a selective norepinephrine (noradrenaline) reuptake inhibitor, is an effective medication in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder with a generally well-tolerated adverse effect profile. However, unusual side effects may occur during treatment. Here we report a case of hypertensive crisis in an 8-year-old male patient with autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder receiving atomoxetine treatment. We plan to discuss the clinical picture of the subject and importance of close monitoring during atomoxetine treatment. |
