Observed wave climate trends in the offshore Black Sea from 1990 to 2014

The main objective of the present study is the analysis of storm activity in the Black Sea over the last 25 years, using the method of mathematical modeling. Our results allow us to conclude that the average annual wind wave power has increased by 10–15% from 1990 to 2014. This tendency is attributa...

Summary:The main objective of the present study is the analysis of storm activity in the Black Sea over the last 25 years, using the method of mathematical modeling. Our results allow us to conclude that the average annual wind wave power has increased by 10–15% from 1990 to 2014. This tendency is attributable mainly to the strengthening of atmospheric circulation in the east of the basin.
