Technology for Making Circular and Hexagonal Tubes of Ferritic-Martensitic Steel EP450U-Sh for Fast-Neutron Reactors
A new technology has been developed for making tubular semifinished products and finished tubes of circular and hexagonal cross section from ferritic-martensitic steel 12Kh12M1BFRU-Sh (EP450U-Sh). Summary: | A new technology has been developed for making tubular semifinished products and finished tubes of circular and hexagonal cross section from ferritic-martensitic steel 12Kh12M1BFRU-Sh (EP450U-Sh). The technology was the first to be used to obtain ESR ingots 450–490 mm in diameter. The optimum conditions were determined for piercing and hot-rolling the ingots at the Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe), and a multi-step process for cold rolling and shaping has been successfully introduced at the factory. The ChelPipe has thus become the first plant to make circular 150 × 2 × 1200 mm tubes and hexagonal tubes with “turnkey” dimensions of 174 × 3.5 × 3750. |
