Summary:We live today in a world wide open, where privacy is hardly maintained, with the big data getting involved, it's only getting worse, since data is henceforth everywhere and about everyone, we can’t really tell who knows what about who, where the data is actually relying, and what uses are made out of it. Privacy though is a very important aspect that people always require in many sectors, and it's not less important in the healthcare industry, where information only gets even more personal and sensitive that any privacy breach becomes an issue of life or death. In this paper, we have focused on the benefits of big data in the healthcare sector, as well as some of the main challenges often encountered. We have then concentrated on the Moroccan context, shown the problems it has and its specificities, in order to suggest recommendations to encourage the decision makers to take the path of Big Data. And finally, we have enlightened the privacy issues in healthcare and the current methods used to ensure the patient's privacy.
