Summary:Migraine headaches are common in children, adolescents, and adults. In children, migraines have a considerable effect on development, often leading to missed school days, educational delays, and decreased socialization. 1 In adults, migraine headaches result in a considerable number of days lost from work. Although there have been hundreds of randomized clinical trials evaluating prophylactic treatment of migraine headache in adults, there have been few controlled studies involving children.
