Summary: | On 15 July, 2010, a landslide occurred at Guantianba in Hengjiang Town, Suijiang County, Yunnan Province, which is located on the right bank of Jinshangjiang River in Xiangjiaba Reservoir area; it destroyed several houses in this region, causing 8 families (about 30 residents) homeless, The slide is affected by the combined effects of the heavy downpour, sudden load at the rear of the landslide, excavation vibration and the overuse of plantation. With the first water storage of Xiangjiaba Reservoir in May this year, the landslide is very likely to slide again, so a detailed field geology survey has been done, some obvious deformation characteristics of the landslide were found. Based on field investigations and laboratory studies, this paper discusses the factors that affected slope stability of Guantianba and suggests that some monitoring and remedial measures should be taken to protect the wealth and life of residents. Through the analysis on the causes and stability evaluation of the Guantianba landslide, it provides certain reference value on the similar soil slope stability analysis in Xiangjiaba Reservoir area. |
