Summary: | The press-fit implants can be used in any edentulous area with sufficient width and depth of bone for support. Clinical studies of at least one of the HA-coated systems have shown good results in the placement of the implant in extraction sockets, previous grafted ridges, and in conjunction with both autogeneous and synthetic bone grafts. The surgical placement must not traumatize the soft or hard tissue. The implant must be placed in a stressfree environment during the 3- or 4-month healing period. A variety of prosthetic components are available for both fixed and removable prostheses. |
