Summary:Results of measurements of the absolute density of ArII ions in a mirror trap with a toroidal divertor are presented. The ion density was measured by the method of laser-induced fluorescence with the use of ArII metastable states. A technique is proposed to estimate the plasma electron temperature from the ratio of the fluorescence signals obtained by comparing the intensities of different optical transitions of ArII.
