Summary:After institutional review board approval at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, a single-center retrospective case-control study of all patients undergoing LT between January 2013 and December 2018 was performed. A significant difference was noted between CRRT and control groups from ΔT1-Tanh −2.37 °C and =0.71 °C (p 0.049) and ΔT1-Trep −3.34 °C and −0.21 °C (p 0.01), but not for ΔTanh-Trep −0.86 °C and −0.93 °C. CRRT patients drop temperature throughout the case and never fully recover after reperfusion (ΔT1-Tend −0.93 °C) whereas the control group had a net gain in temperature (ΔT1-Tend =1.27 °C) (Fig. 1). Future studies should aim to address interventions to minimize thermal loss during CRRT and the impact of hypothermia related to CRRT on blood loss and transfusion requirements.Declaration of competing interest The authors have no conflicts of interest to disclose.
