Dipyridylphenylaminosilole : a case of luminescence enhancement by chromophoric synergism
High performance single-layer organic electroluminescent (EL) devices based on 1,1-dimethyl-2,5-bis(p-2,2'-dipyridylaminophenyl)-3,4-diphenylsilole as both electron and hole-transporting material are described. This compound displays a very high EL performance in the yellow-green domain with a...

Summary: | High performance single-layer organic electroluminescent (EL) devices based on 1,1-dimethyl-2,5-bis(p-2,2'-dipyridylaminophenyl)-3,4-diphenylsilole as both electron and hole-transporting material are described. This compound displays a very high EL performance in the yellow-green domain with a maximum efficiency of 27Cd/A and 6lm/W. In comparison with the other siloles described by Tamao et al. such luminescence enhancement may originate from an energy transfer from the 2,5-diaryl side-groups to the central silole ring. |
