Investigation of complex formation between (sodium alginate/acrylamide) semi-interpenetrating polymer networks and lead, cadmium, nickel ions

In this study, (sodium alginate (NaAlg)/acrylamide (AAm)) interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) have been prepared at the fixed composition where the sodium alginate composition is 3% (w/v) in 50% (w/v) acrylamide solutions. This solution has been irradiated in 60Co-γ source at different doses. Th...

Summary:In this study, (sodium alginate (NaAlg)/acrylamide (AAm)) interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) have been prepared at the fixed composition where the sodium alginate composition is 3% (w/v) in 50% (w/v) acrylamide solutions. This solution has been irradiated in 60Co-γ source at different doses. The complexation between (NaAlg/AAm)IPN and metal ion solutions was investigated and their complex stoichiometries were calculated. The spectroscopic analysis of (NaAlg/AAm)IPN–metal ion complexes were performed. The luminescence properties of (NaAlg/AAm)IPN–metal ion systems were investigated and the emission and excitation spectra of these IPN solutions were obtained.
