Summary:A new method is described for accurate Phase Angle Measurement from Peak AreaS (PAMPAS) with the goal of facilitating automated phase correction of NMR spectra. PAMPAS measures phases of isolated NMR peaks by using Fourier analysis of a series of peak areas measured with systematically incremented phase shifts. The calculated phases of individual peaks can be employed to extract the zero- and first-order phase corrections by means of linear regression. The method is accurate, independent of the lineshape, robust, fast, and easy to implement.
