Summary: | Hawaii is often referred to as the melting pot of the Pacific. Multicultural diversity is embedded in the DNA of the state and its residents. Two Hawaii-based shared site programs, the Seagull Schools at Kapolei on Oahu and the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center on Maui, are intentional in conveying the rich and diverse cultural heritages of island residents. Program design and activities help to ensure that the legacies of an older generation will transfer to the next. Reprinted by permission of Routledge, Taylor and Francis |
