Summary:In this concluding article, we discuss the research and ideas on interethnic marriage put forth by our colleagues in this issue of the Journal of Social Issues by framing them using interdependence theory and the investment model. We discuss the work in terms of rewards, costs, investments, and alternatives. Next, we discuss several areas of future research needed to better understand interethnic marriage. Finally, we summarize issues related to social policy.
