Summary:Conductive polymers (CPs) have undergone in-depth investigations because of their numerous benefits in comparison with conventional materials. CPs nanocomposites have demonstrated incremental electrical conductivity, high surface area, and excellent electrochemical behavior thereby expanding their scope of applications. The hybridization of CPs with nanomaterials have resulted in fabrication of multifunctional nanocomposites with enhanced performance in varying devices, such as sensor, energy storage, energy harvesting, and protective devices. Therefore, this paper elucidates recently emerging advancements in CPs, and its composites, and nanocomposites. Synthesis, characterization, properties, and novel applications along with market structures are elucidated.
