Summary:Analytical predictions of woven plain fabric composite (WPFC) mechanical properties based on the existing models still remain a formidable task due to complex fiber architecture. Therefore, there has been a strong need for a simplified, practical approach to determining the mechanical properties of structural members laminated with WPFC. This paper proposes a practically useful engineering approach to predict the flexural properties of WPFC. The analytical solution of the developed approach was compared to the results of experimental flexural tests performed with three-point bending test specimens. Experimental findings and the results obtained from the practical engineering approach showed a good agreement.
