Summary:In this study, p-Phenylenediamine supported on nanocellulose (PDA@CNC) was designed. The prepared nanocatalyst was characterized with various analytical techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM, and CHN. Nanocatalyst used for the synthesis of spiropyran oxide derivatives by designing a simple and efficient method using a three-part reaction between the Isatin derivatives, Malononitrile or Ethyl cyanoacetate and 1,3-dicarbonyl compound. Simple procedure, high yields, short reaction time and environmentally benign method are advantages of this protocol. The nanocatalyst was readily separated by filter and reusable without significant loss of its catalytic efficiency.
