The optical theorem for light scattering from a dielectric rough surface
The problem of a plane electromagnetic wave scattering from an infinite plane interface of two lossless dielectrics with a one-dimensional localized roughness of arbitrary shape is considered. The generalized optical theorem for the scattering amplitude is obtained. This theorem is supposed to be us...

Summary: | The problem of a plane electromagnetic wave scattering from an infinite plane interface of two lossless dielectrics with a one-dimensional localized roughness of arbitrary shape is considered. The generalized optical theorem for the scattering amplitude is obtained. This theorem is supposed to be used as a necessary condition against which any theoretical approach for solving the scattering problem under consideration can be verified. |
