Summary:This study aims at development and evaluation of effectiveness of AR-based teaching material (ARTM) for the subject "Solar System" in the unit of "Solar System and Eclipses." The study, which was conducted through the case study method, was carried out with 22 sixth-grade students. The data collection tools were "The Solar System Data Collection Form" and "The Astronomy Opinion Form." The data were analyzed by qualitative analysis. It was found that ARTM enhanced the success of the students on the subject and contributed to the process of remedying their misconceptions. It was also seen that ARTM increased their interest in astronomy subjects and concepts. The students were happy to use such applications in the class and wanted to continue using AR applications in learning such abstract concepts in the future.
