Summary: | Firstly, purify Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with mixed acid(the volume ratio of concentrated nitric acid to concentrated sulfuric acid is 1:3), secondly, manufacture CNTs/Al2024 composites with different CNTs content by adopting high-energy ball milling method, thirdly, shape the mix powder by using cold-pressing and sintering methods. When the content of CNTs and milling time were 1.5 wt% and 2.5 h, CNTs would disperse homogeneously with a good interfacial bonding between CNTs and Al-2024. Under this conditions, the tensile strength of the composites was 254.4 MPa compared to the matrix, up to 77.2% in tensile strength. |
