Summary:PVK, modified by substituting iodine in positions 3 and 6, was the subject of study. It was performed to determine PVK's electroluminescence characteristics as well as the photoelectronic features and to analyse the possibility of using PVK in the LED structures. Halogens as electronegative atoms strongly influence the electron structure of a carbazole group modifying its UV spectrum, photoluminescence properties and the electroluminescence. Investigations, using such polymers as PVK, P3JVK and P3,6JVK, have been carried out.
