Summary:Hepatic echinococcosis (HE) is a rare condition caused by cestodes of the genus Echinococcus. However, it is extremely rare condition that a patient had both HE and primary liver cancer (PHC). We present a case of PHC and cystic echinococcosis which was diagnosed by medical imaging, serology, and angiography. No definitive treatment for this condition was recommended. After discussion regarding treatment options, the patient received cancer-control treatment (transarterial chemoembolization). Therefore, we discuss the diagnosis and treatment choice in this setting. Physicians should also be aware of this possibility that both HE and PHC can be observed at the same time.
