Summary:The systems Fe 1−xGa xMnNiO 4 and CoFe 2−xGa xO 4 have been investigated using low temperature Mössbauer and ac susceptibility techniques for investigation of spin-glass behaviour. Mössbauer measurements at liquid nitrogen temp. for the system Fe 1−xGa xMnNiO 4 indicated the presence of “ferri spin-glass state” in the system where long range ferrimagnetic and frustrated spin-glass ordering coexist. Ac susceptibility measurements for the system CoFe 2−xGa xO 4 indicated that compositions with X=0.25 and 0.5 undergo ferrimagnetic transition at T N and on further cooling enter a spin-glass state with the magnetization of clusters being randomly frozen.
