Summary:The experimental results obtained during uniaxial low cyclic deformation of two forms of polyamide: sheet samples of solid material and fibrous safety belts are presented. The temperature and stress vs. strain characteristics were found in both the elastic and plastic ranges. The change of the character of the sample temperature was applied as a criterion for the limit between the elastic and plastic regime. The discrepancies observed between the temperature characteristics of the solid and the belt samples were discussed.
