Summary: | There is a mutual influence between the effects of controlling exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). This paper presents an approach through the application of a control system CAD program and rapid prototyping tools to improve transient operating states by referring to a model-based exhaust recirculation and variable geometry turbocharger control algorithm. The operation model for estimating the state conditions of EGR and a VGT was built on the controller. Simulation and experimental results demonstrating the effectiveness of optimized transient control are also described. |
