Summary:The Youden analysis commonly used in the intercomparison between flowmeter calibration facilities is discussed in this paper. According to the theory of probability and theory of errors, an improved statistical analysis method based on the Student's t-distribution, which can be used to calculate the Youden circle, is suggested by the authors. It should be expected that the statistically analytical results of the intercomparison by use of the improved method would be more accurate and reliable.
