Summary:The method of thermoluminescence (TL) was used to investigate the oxygen action on the photosynthetic apparatus of bean leaves ( Vicia faba, cv Russkie chernie). We have shown that the decrease in the oxygen concentration in the leaf environment leads to the decrease in the intensity of TL bands B and C but only slightly effects band A. The high-temperature part of the C-band may arise from the reactions of the products of membranes destruction as a result of freezing and further heating of the chloroplasts in the presence of oxygen. The investigation of the influence of mineral nutrient deficiencies on the TL was made on the wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) leaves of 3 cvs. The plants were grown on the soil or on the sand culture with admixture of several mineral elements (N. P. K or their mixture). The alterations in the TL curves are believed to associate with the changes in the state of electron transport chain and the functioning of the water-splitting complex.
