An improved ray approximation method to design the single-mode 3-D optical waveguide

A novel method is developed to analyze a single-mode 3-D optical waveguide based on the ray-approximation method, which we call the improved ray approximation method. Summary:A novel method is developed to analyze a single-mode 3-D optical waveguide based on the ray-approximation method, which we call the improved ray approximation method. The effect of the optical parameters (wavelength, refractive-index and refractive-index difference) on the optimum design is investigated for a strong single-mode 3-D optical waveguide. This is simple and effective for the optimum design of the optical waveguide using the method. This will be helpful for the design of waveguide devices.
