Realistic string model and technicolor

A realistic string model is constructed by compactifying the E 8 × E′ 8 heterotic strings via a manifold T 22/G. The theory is modular invariant and tachyon free. Summary:A realistic string model is constructed by compactifying the E 8 × E′ 8 heterotic strings via a manifold T 22/G. The theory is modular invariant and tachyon free. In the low-energy limit there are three families of light fermions with exactly the same quantum numbers as in the standard SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) model. They couple to gravity and gauge fields with the gauge symmetry SU(3) F × SU(3) C × SU(2) L × SU(2) R × U(1) 2 × SU(4)′ × SU(3)′ × SU(2)′ × U(1)′ 2. The SU(4)′ group can play the role of the technicolor group to break the SU(3) F × SU(2) R × SU(2) L × U(1) 2 symmetry and generate fermion masses.
