Regularization of simultaneous binary collisions in the n-body problem

In the n-body problem a collision singularity occurs when the positions of two or more bodies tend to coincide. It is well known that binary collisions can be regularized and collisions of three or more bodies cannot be regularized, unless we restrict the study to some simple class of problem. In th...

Summary:In the n-body problem a collision singularity occurs when the positions of two or more bodies tend to coincide. It is well known that binary collisions can be regularized and collisions of three or more bodies cannot be regularized, unless we restrict the study to some simple class of problem. In this paper we show that the remaining case, that is, several binary collisions occurring simultaneously, is also regularizable.
