Summary:An efficient synthesis of cinchona alkaloid-derived ligands based on solvent-free microwave-assisted reaction was described. The coupling of 1,4-dichlorophthalazine or 3,6-dichloropyridazine with quinine, cinchonine or cinchonidine provide bis- or mono-cinchona alkaloid-derived ligands in moderate to good yields (52–89%) within 15 min under optimum microwave conditions.
