Summary:In the present paper a model in which the creep damage A is related through the life time function to the damage rate A is used to connect a very general probabilistic approach for life time prediction with the life fraction rule. The probability distribution turns out to be a function of the material loading conditions. The implications this behavior has upon the life time prediction are shown for the case of stress ramp loading conditions.
