Summary:•PU/PCL membranes loaded with virgin coconut oil (VCO) were fabricated.•VCO treatment inhibited the adhesion of blood cells and promoted anti-coagulation behavior.•The presence of VCO in membranes supported cell viability. This study aims to produce an electrospun polyurethane/polycaprolactone (PU/PCL) membrane loaded with virgin coconut oil (VCO) for improved antithrombogenicity. The results showed that the addition of VCO plays a remarkable role in mitigating blood cells adhesion, promoting anti-coagulation and aiding cell adhesion.
