Preparation of Bi2Sr2Can−1CunOy tapes on various metals by chemical solution deposition

We have deposited Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy (Bi-2212) tapes on Ni, Ag/Ni, Ag/NiO/Ni Ag and MgO substrates by a chemical solution deposition, and have investigated their superconducting property and surface morphology of the Bi-2212 tapes. Summary:We have deposited Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy (Bi-2212) tapes on Ni, Ag/Ni, Ag/NiO/Ni Ag and MgO substrates by a chemical solution deposition, and have investigated their superconducting property and surface morphology of the Bi-2212 tapes. The Bi-2212 tapes on the Ag/Ni substrate are c-axis-oriented. By the use of the Ag buffer layer, the critical temperature (Tc) of the Bi-2212/Ag/Ni increases 70–75K. Therefore, the Ag buffer layer is thought to be useful for the fabrication of Bi-2212 tapes on the Ni substrates. In addition, an optimum thickness of a Ag buffer layer is about 10μm.
