Background: Curcuminoids are promising cancer chemopreventive agents. Curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC) and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) are the major bioactive curcuminoids in turmeric. However, comprehensive metabolic studies of these three curcuminoids are still limited.
