An attempt to determine the activation energy of desorption from the shape of the pressure pulse in an uhv system caused by LID

Summary:The gas desorption from a small part of the surface of a metal body (sample) was performed by rubbing it with another body in an uhv system and the total pressure in the chamber was recorded. These experiments were repeated at 10 various temperatures for the rubbed sample. The time-pressure curves were analysed according to a previously found theory. This analysis produced strings of points possibly corresponding to the various activation energy of desorption.
