Multichannel electron-atom scattering calculations using local complex distortions of the energy spectrum

We outline a procedure for calculating elastic and inelastic electron scattering amplitudes using expansions in basis sets of square-integrable functions exclusively. The local complex distortion method is illustrated by application to coupled-channel calculations of e −-H and e −-Li scattering.
