Summary:We obtain the geometric form of the general Virasoro construction L = L ab : J a J b : on the currents of affine g. The master equation is a particular Einstein-like system on the group manifold G, where the inertia tensor L ab defines a left-invariant metric. The central charge of the general construction is c = dim g − 4 R, with R the curvature scalar. Extension to include linear terms, for example L = L ab : J a J b : + D a ∂J a , defines particular Einstein-Maxwell-like generalizations.
