Summary:This paper describes PEA's programme on design, implementation and evaluation of pilot hybrid renewable energy systems for electrification of remote villages in Thailand. It is proposed that three hybrid energy systems namely, PV/Microhydro/Diesel/Battery, PV/Diesel/Battery and PV batteryless grid connected power stations be installed to demonstrate and evaluate advanced renewable technologies. Methodologies used in systems design, descriptions and operations of the systems are given in details.
