Summary:Outgassing characteristics of unbaked and baked Au electroplated alloy Palladec 21 were studied at 135°C in a vacuum of 1 × 10 −6 mbar in the experimental system, which was constructed and built for this purpose at IEVT. The aim of this work was to determine their suitability for use as electrical contacts of miniature hermetic relays. AES depth profile analysis revealed that the oxide layer on the Au electroplated Palladec 21 alloy at these conditions is negligible.
