Summary:We fabricate a foil-shaped composite material based on polyurethane elastomer (PE) and magnetorheological suspension (MRS) and use it for manufacturing of plane resistors. Using the ohmmeter method, we measure the resistance R of the resistors as a function of an external magnetic field of intensity H, for various values of volume fraction Φ of MRS. Using the dipolar approximation and linear elasticity theory for small deformations, we determine the components of deformations ϵzz, tension σzz and magnetoelastic constant k, as a function of H and Φ. We present and discuss the obtained results.
