Summary:The effects of short term aging on the structural and optical properties of thermal evaporated nickel-tetraphenylporphine films were studied. It has positive effects: the amorphous state becomes more ordered, and crystallite size and optical gaps increase. Other optical constants were calculated: single-oscillator energy, Eo, dispersion energy, Ed, infinite wavelength dielectric constant, ∞, lattice dielectric constant, L, and the ratio of the carrier concentration to the effective mass, N/m*. Also, the effects of short term aging on the real, 1, and imaginary, 2, parts of the dielectric constant, , and the loss tangent, tan δ, were studied.
