Gastrointestinal Amyloidosis
A 60-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis presented with diarrhea and anorexia. Biopsy of colonic erosions showed amyloid deposits with apple-green birefringence on Congo red staining, and a diagnosis of gastrointestinal amyloidosis was made.
