How synthesis parameters influence the structure and properties of calcium fluoroapatite

A moderate-temperature method for the synthesis of calcium fluoroapatite in chloride and carbonate melts is developed. It is shown that fluoroapatite can contain CO ₃ ²⁻ and OH⁻ groups in different ratios depending on the parameters of its synthesis. The influence of CO ₃ ²⁻ and OH⁻ groups on the so...

Summary:A moderate-temperature method for the synthesis of calcium fluoroapatite in chloride and carbonate melts is developed. It is shown that fluoroapatite can contain CO ₃ ²⁻ and OH⁻ groups in different ratios depending on the parameters of its synthesis. The influence of CO ₃ ²⁻ and OH⁻ groups on the sorption properties of apatite, in particular, on the sorption of Cu²⁺ ions is considered. The greater the number of the CO ₃ ²⁻ - and OH⁻ groups in the structure of apatite, the higher is the value of sorption.
