Summary:Incoherent scattering functions were determined experimentally for a photon energy of 59.5 keV at an angle 110° for the elements V, Cr, Co Br, Sr, Cd, I, Cs, Ba, Ce, Nd, Sm, Hf, Os and Tl using a high‐resolution Ge(Li) detector. The experimental values of incoherent scattering functions at the momentum transfer x ≈ 2.74 Å−1 were compared with those estimated on the basis of the non‐relativistic Hartree–Fock wavefunctions. The present results were in good agreement with those of Hubbell et al. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
