The effect of imidization conditions on the structure and properties of fibres from partially crystallized polyimide

In this work, the two-stage process for producing polyimide fiber from polyamic acid (PAA) by wet spinning was used. Polyimide fibers were obtained by thermal and chemical imidization. The effect of the imidization method (chemical and thermal) on morphology, chemical structure, thermal stability an...

Summary:In this work, the two-stage process for producing polyimide fiber from polyamic acid (PAA) by wet spinning was used. Polyimide fibers were obtained by thermal and chemical imidization. The effect of the imidization method (chemical and thermal) on morphology, chemical structure, thermal stability and mechanical properties of polyimide fibers was investigated. A number of research methods were used in the work, such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calometry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and determination of strength characteristics.
